"Moving Target"

Ani King went home to visit her mother and sister. Her father was away for a couple of days, but he had given Ani the password to use his computer to check her e-mail. Ani logged on and she noticed one e-mail with incriminating evidence against her father and the Russian Mafia. The following evening, Ani went to her parents' house to confront her father about the e-mail and the Mafia.. She went directly to her father's den. When she got there, three men were talking to her father. Ani's father was seated behind his desk. Dmitry a member of the Russian Mafia, drew a gun and shot Ani's father right in the forehead. Dmitry casually looked over his shoulders and saw Ani standing outside the doorway. Then, he shot her too and she screamed from the pain. Ani's mother and sister heard the screams and ran into the hall. Dmitry shot her mother and sister. He ordered the other two men to torch the house. One came back with a can of gasoline tore a drape from the curtain rod and threw it over Ani's mother. Flames and smoke engulfed the entire downstairs. Ani dragged her sister to a window and both were able to flee the burning house. Ani spent two years in The Witness Security Program. She is getting ready to testify. Ani made a phone call to her old life and the Russian Mafia was able to locate her through the phone company. Now, she is on the run again. Daniel Parker is the Deputy Marshal assigned to Ani since she was in the WITSEC program. Their relationship were not all business. Moving Target is fast moving and exciting. Many Deputy Marshal's were trying to get Ani back to New York to tesify. The Mafia has been on their trail since they left Arizona. They've been shot at, chased, and some Deputy Marshal's have been blown up to save Ani so she can testify for the United States Attorney. Cheyenne McCray provided us with an insider's look into The Witness Security Program. I liked the hot romance between Ani and Daniel. Even though it was forbidden, he crossed the line. For Ani and Daniel, the chemistry were there for both of them from the start when she went into The Witness Program. Overall the story line was action pack from the first chapter to the end. I highly recommend!

Passion, Danger and a Darned Good Story

Museum Curator Ani King was shot along with her family. She survived they did not. Now the killer, one Dmitry Borenko, a member of good (should I say bad) standing in the Russian Mafia wants her dead and will stop at nothing to make it so, especially before she gets a chance to testify against him. Enter the United States Government, the Witness Protection Program (WITSEC) and Deputy Marshall David Parker and Ani goes undercover and that's where she's supposed to stay, right up till she testifies, but sometime stuff happens that is beyond your control. She makes a phone call to help a wounded child and now the mob knows where she is. Back to Marshall David Parker, he's fallen in love with his charge. This is a no no, but like I said, sometimes stuff happens. David has to keep Ani alive, not only because the government needs her to testify, but because she's become the love of his life. I loved the sizzling romance in this book. I loved the characters, especially Ani, and I really loved the thrills in this action packed, romantic thriller. Passion, danger and a darned good story. Reading doesn't get any better than that.

Moving Target

Ani King has spent the last two years hiding from her old life under The Witness Security Program. She is within days of testifying when a needy family has her taking a risk and making a phone call. Now Ani is on the run again but this time towards her old life. At least this time she has her marshal with her. Now if she can just forget about the needs that come up every time Ani looks or thinks about him. Daniel Parker is the deputy marshal assigned to Ani when she was first put into the program. During one of his normal calls, Daniel discovers what Ani has done and knows that she is in danger again. Ani has been more than just an assigned job to Daniel for quite awhile now. Daniel and Ani have to get across the country in time for her court hearing while preventing the Russian mafia from finding them. Even with danger and death coming at them from every angle, Daniel and Ani can't prevent their feelings from taking over even knowing it's breaking the rules. Protection is Daniel's job and keeping Ani safe is all Daniel can worry about for now. The mafia is getting desperate. Will Daniel and the US Marshals be enough to get Ani to court on time? Moving Target takes readers into the secrecy of The Witness Security Program both before and after the court hearing. Ani saw her family murdered and is the government's eyewitness. Daniel was assigned to keep Ani safe and grounded while she waited to testify. They both felt attraction when they first met and the phone calls just fed it. I could feel Ani's terror of what was happening around her and Daniel's need to keep her safe. When Daniel and Ani let that attraction go, their passion was flaming. Moving Target has a combination of danger that keeps you on the edge, hot passion and heady suspense of not only will they make it but what will happen to Daniel and Ani afterwards. Great novel, lots of suspense and romance, you really get into it and feel for the characters!

A sexy and suspenseful Moving Target

Ani is in the witness protection program for witnessing the murder of her family by the Russian mafia. Her father had been involved in the Russian mafia and was trying to get out. Ani came across documents that she was going to confront her father with but ended up seeing them shoot her father, mother, and sister. They also set a fire to their house and Ani was badly burned on her back in addition to the shot to her shoulder. Fast forward to two years later and Ani is living in a small town and has a new identity. She is waiting to testify against the Russian mafia who murdered her family. One phone call to her past life puts her life in danger and the Russian mafia will stop at nothing to see that she never testifies. Her guardian angel is her Deputy Marshal, Daniel, who has been there for since the beginning. He calls her weekly to see how she is doing and they have become close friends. He is there for her when everything comes crashing down and is there to get her safely to the trial only a few days away. They can't ignore the chemistry between them and fall for each other even under the circumstances. The story keeps you suspense as the Deputy Marshals try to get Ani back to NY to testify. They keep running into obstacles and danger at every turn and they are kept on the run until the trial. Will they survive so she can testify and get justice for her family? The action is non stop and the chemistry is hot between the Ani and Daniel. It is a forbidden love that could cost Daniel his career. He is supposed to be protecting Ani not getting emotionally and physically involved with her. She is going to disappear with a new identity after the trial is over. What will happen to them after this is all over? Cheyenne McCray gives us an exciting romantic suspense novel that you will definitely want to pick up.
