This book is about healthy Christianity, not Fundamentalism. Has a loved one rightly labeled your love as lacking? Are you reluctant when asked to love someone unselfishly? Do you exude self-pity when asked to do a loving task? Do you feel stuck in shallow love, but admire the examples of people who are really altruistic? Do you want a game plan to move from "reluctant lover to overcomer"? Do you want to embrace the promises from Jesus in a way that makes you alive to His wisdom and grace? So that you move in genuine healthy love and altruism towards those you know but also towards the strangers you might meet daily? Do you want to love unselfishly all those persons in your life who need your tangible caring input more deeply? Then this book is for you
This book aims at and gives a nuts and bolts teaching on how to move from selfishness to altruism in our daily lives. This means providing and giving advice on how to move from vices to virtues. This process requires wisdom and grace that both come from Jesus. This requires us to embrace a relationship with Jesus that leads to two-way prayer and meditation on liberating truths, as described in the bible. It also asks us to embrace the body of Christ as a place to give and receive in the process of growth, maturity, and repentance as we move towards the virtue and freedom of loving altruism.
