Dullbloods, these are the people who lack the magic that allows one to learn & master skills at an efficient pace. Once discovered to be one when they come of age, one can expect to say goodbye to their old life & hello to a newer more meagre one.
Sometimes under threat of having your throat ripped out by a gleeful older brother.
John Kettle was a dullblood that went on a journey that ended with him reluctantly having to act like a hero in order to save the port city of Stackport, & by extension also save his home in the city's sewers. With the city saved he was content to make the most of his life as a dullblood & relax.
But if only things could be so simple.
Thanks to a snow globe John had acquired on his travels he finds himself in the freezing cold of Struddleheim. A place where dullbloods are slaves by birth.
Sold in to slavery he finds himself toiling away as part of an archeological excavation to dig through the ruins of an ancient city.
However things aren't going well, the man in charge is getting desperate & the slaves are being drafted for a massive dungeon crawl to find anything of real value.
However there are rumours that this all part of a last effort to find a legendary weapon below.
