The 1st in a series:Nancy, Norman and Danny spend each summer with their Grandmother at her mountain cabin. Nancy, being the oldest, is constantly trying to teach her brothers about science, math and just about anything else that comes to mind. Sometimes it's as simple as "never ever run from a bear!" Other times she is using grandma's hot apple pie to teach them fractions, or lightning to teach about the speed of sound and how to use a watch as a compass. She guides them on many adventures and they seem to get into the thick of things from time to time. This adventure takes them deep into the forest as they track a strange critter that has been stealing their food in the middle of the night and then disappearing into the forest. While seeking their allusive prey, they discover a mystical tree that is hiding a 400 year old secret. This tale of fantasy and magic introduces a world of adventure that will delight and entertain.
