The mountain, with its majestic presence, has long been a focal point for various ethnic groups in Kenya.Kikuyu: The Kikuyu people, also known as the Agikuyu, are the largest ethnic group in Kenya and are predominantly found around Mount Kenya and the Central Highlands. The Embu people are closely related to the Kikuyu and Meru communities. They inhabit the eastern slopes of Mount Kenya and are known for their farming practices, particularly coffee and tea cultivation. The Meru people, also known as the Ameru, reside mainly on the eastern and northern slopes of Mount Kenya.
