The importance of storytelling in Africa cannot be underestimated despite technological advancement in entertainment. This is because storytelling holds reprimanding element which cautions listeners. Besides, it helps the listener to understand the use of legend, parables, idioms as well as develop retentive memory and overcome attentive fatigue as the listener participates. Most importantly, storytelling has histo-poetical and moral values. In the process of re-telling story, the listener develops and enhances oral expressive skills. Oamen's works manifest the struggles of a people whose environment is undergoing the process of transformation and confrontation with modernity. Felix Omo-Asun, Nigeria Compass, Sunday, June 22, 2008
