Nothing Wrong With This Book

I found this book after reading In the Best of Families by the same author, which I enjoyed. I thought this was a great book, too, I don't know what some of the reviewers were expecting. As far as jumping around, that is not true. The book is chronological and easy to follow. I read only true crime books and I rank this high because unlike so many true crime books I was interested until the very last page. Too many true crime books spend way too much time on the trial so we often get up to half of the book if not more spent rehashing all the same details we already know, described tediously through each and every witness of the trial. In this book the subject was not even arrested until the last 25 pages so it kept my attention throughout. It is a really good story, too, I highly recommend.

A murderous mother

This is one of the very few true crime books that I've read, and I must say that it was very chilling and disturbing; it is so sad those two girls had to die such gruesome deaths because of that twisted woman. I found Dennis McDougal's writing to be superb.

Chilling....

I read this book years and years ago. It's still one of my favorite true crime books. I can't believe the horror the kids had to go through just to live in Teressa's twisted world and the scars it left on her children into adulthood. Upon reading it, I had nightmares for a while. This is the only book that has had that much of an impact on me, I still find it amazing. The author, I think, does a fantastic job with detailing scenery, dialogue, etc. It's a wonderful book. Too bad it's true...

Great book!

This book was very well written. It carried you from Theresa's childhood to the end without combersome and extraneous details to slow it down. It was much like psychological case history. Amazing how siblings raised together can become so different and have such different experiences. This is true for both Theresa and her siblings as well as her own children.

Good writing

Well, Dennis, you're good! Great book that kept me turning the pages. When the first crime was so early in the book, I couldn't imagine what the rest of the book was about. Oh my... page after page of crimes that go on for years! Really enjoyed the author's writing style and the way the story was delivered. Thanks, Dennis! Keep writing!
