Great book on Mothering

Love how the author takes scriptures and tailors them to mothering. Really uplifting and inspiring book to encourage mothers in raising their children by partnering with the Lord (the great Creator of all).

Expert scripture application!

Sometimes it's hard to know how to apply scriptures to our lives. But this is a book that does it so well. Not only do you receive the treasure of Debra Woods' many scriptural insights but you also learn how to apply new passages yourself just by seeing how it's done. I especially enjoyed the author's insights about prioritizing. She made me realize that I don't have to worry so much about making it through my to do list. Instead, by following King Benjamin's advice to do things in wisdom and order, I could instead just focus on meeting my childrens' emotional, spiritual, and physical needs for nurturing and the rest would take care of itself. It's easy to get things exactly backwards--crowding out the essential for the urgent. Debra Woods truly has a gift of bringing clarity and insight to everyday problems through her writing and experiences. I highly recommend this book for anyone in any stage of mothering, even grandmothers.

Great book for any woman - even if you're not a mom

I originally purchased Mothering with Spiritual Power because I wanted to support the author. I didn't think I would really identify with the book since I'm not a mom; however, I was pleasantly surprised to find that there was something that I could identify with in every single chapter. The book was both entertaining and uplifting/motivating. It's full of principles that we can apply in our lives to make our families better starting with ourselves. I especially enjoyed how real life examples were woven with Book of Mormon scripture. I would wholeheartedly recommend this book to moms (I think it would make a great gift), but I would also recommend it to any woman.
