Mother Wit: 365 Meditations for African American Women

This book was received as a gift. It gave me more than I could imagine. It was filled with the "pearls of wisdom" I received growing up in the deep South. It is reflective of the wisdom passed down to me while being nurtured by my mother and her four sisters. It is witty and refreshing to encounter old biblical stories applied to everyday problems through the lens of a woman who shares my experiences. This book also proves that Africans did not loose their culture through the Middle Passage as some historians would have us to believe. I highly recommend Rev. Dr. Fosua's book to young women entering the rites of passage age and would also give it to my son to read.
