Mother Teresa: A Biographical Monologue

Mother Teresa; had a vision that Jesus was calling her to serve the poor. She had been working as a teacher at a girl's school in Calcutta, India and had first-hand knowledge of the poorest of the poor. She left her comfortable life as a nun and went out into the streets of Calcutta and began living in a small shanty while going about tending to the sick and dying on the streets. She eventually got help from the government and the archdiocese and generous donors and she began the Missionaries of Charity and she was able to feed the starving, clothe the naked, and clean and shelter the dying for a comfortable death. For her work she received many awards including a Nobel Prize. At the age of 87 she died penniless in her hot room above the mission kitchen, talking of God's love. She still had been working at her mission and attending mass at 4:30 am every morning. After her death she was made a saint in the Catholic Church.
