ISBN 0671498789 - Classic Mother Goose nursery rhymes, illustrated by Terue Sakai in a small board book with padded cover. Really, what could be bad in that? Nothing, it turns out. Eleven rhymes with one illustration each, from Jack and Jill to Humpty Dumpty. The text is what it has been for ages - recognizable and memorable, which is why it endures. The illustrations are more quaint than fantastic, but they suit this edition of the rhymes very well. I was a little surprised to see the image of the cut-off tails of the Three Blind Mice, a graphic that was a little tacky to me. A good, if not spectacular, book to introduce your child to the rhymes you've known all your life. - AnnaLovesBooks
