The first section of this book contains stories that are mostly true, or could have happened. Some are on the lighter side and others slant in another direction, as all of us do sometime during our lives. The photo on the cover of this book is of my uncle Dwight L. McCue--my mother's brother--and the story of his life is featured in Section 2 of this book. The cover image shows him holding two of his white Leghorn laying hens. Dwight grew up in St. Paul and New Ulm, Minnesota, but moved to Forest Grove, Oregon to start a small farm. It was unusual back then for a man to be raised in town and then become a farmer. Usually, guys went from the farm to the city. Dwight's brothers predicted he would fail. Uncle Dwight was a man with immense capabilities, many of which were self-taught. And he was a hoot to be around. I've tried to follow his advice all my life and to emulate his habits. I know I've had a happier time because of it."Three To A Hill" is Dwight's story. This book concludes with Section 3--stories, poems, and illustrations by a few of my deceased relatives including W. Howard Hamm, Bill Stucker, and Richard L. Ramsell. Perhaps writing runs in families.I am very interested in your reactions to these stories and poems and encourage direct feedback.
