"Delgado" is the second book in the Mortal Dire series. The story unexpectedly brings John and Zed back to the small town of Dyer. Since their last visit, the vacant village is now flourishing with new businesses, construction, and the new Greater Dyer Church of God, led by Preacher Bob. During the demolition of the old Dyer church, a small locked chest was discovered. Preacher Bob does his best to get the message to John, knowing Zed had found the possible key. However, someone else finds this out as well. A vengeful and powerful evil invades Dyer to claim what is in the locked chest. As John prepares to wage a battle once again to save the town, he must also contend with his own demons. A struggle ensues with his greatest enemy, himself. Is John's faith in himself and his companions strong enough to overcome the sinister abomination and discover the mysterious contents of the chest before it's too late? Only God knows.
