A fateful choice made on New Year's Eve 1984 leads a young man to abandon his post at the rural South Carolina Baptist Church where he serves as the Minister of Youth and Music. He leaves first to live with a couple of friends before he enlists into the US Army, where he requests to be sent to South Korea. Convinced that he has run far enough from his life that he will find peace, he realizes he cannot actually escape these battles which rage inside of him and he must face each head on and deal with the consequences, even as they leave new casualties in their wake.
