More Than We Can Imagine

Imagine a book on theology that is fun to read! This is a handbook for anyone who wants a straightforward explanation of the Holy Spirit and how He operates as well as for those, such as pastors and elders, who want to equip others with this understanding. There are many good books about the Holy Spirit, how to hear from God, and how the gifts of the Spirit are at work today, but Dick Robinson's "More Than We Can Imagine: A Practical Guide to the Holy Spirit" is the one I wish I had had when I first began in earnest to seek an understanding of God's supernatural power and its purposes and how we can have a deeper personal relationship with the Holy Spirit Himself. Beneath the clear everyday language that is easy to read and understand, and the many personal stories and insights that bring the material to life, there is sound theology supported with every appropriate Scripture reference. I have known Dick Robinson for over 25 years, first as the associate pastor of a church where I served as an elder and now as a trusted friend and brother who has gently encouraged my spiritual development. I have personally benefitted from the inner healing ministry of Dick and his wife Carrie. He was behind the events leading up to my going on trips to Brazil with Randy Clark's Global Awakening ministry teams, praying for the sick and actually seeing people be healed by the power of the Holy Spirit. These were life-changing experiences. Dick knows what he is writing about.

As a Presbyterian pastor, "More Than We Can Imagine" has a special appeal for me. It is one of the few recent books that offers significant theological balance in its presentation of the person and work of the Holy Spirit. I have known the author for a number of years, and was not surprised by the balance that I found. Through the rich use of personal experiences and the accurate application of the Scriptures, author Dick Robinson has given pastors and lay people alike an absorbing understanding of the need for a living and personal relationship with God's indwelling Holy Spirit.
