Elizabeth's romantic interest in an Asian American student angers a prejudiced bully named Brad. This description may be from another edition of this product.
The story line has a prejudice plot, with the story starting to sound like a mushy romance, but of course, no story is complete without one. When all is well, some Asian comes, Dary Sing, and that is mainly when the prejudice starts. Brad, a big jock, has a crush on Liz, the main character, but Liz loves Been Lee, a natural born United States citizen with a Chinese heritage. So you can see the love circle problem here right? Liz, though, helps Dary try to fit in and with her English, but only Dary, Mrs. Dahm (Dary?s aunt) and the teachers cares. But it seems that when she is with Dary Ben avoids her. But even for ben to see Liz he has to lie to his parents. Will ben ever face up tp his parents? Will Brad ever stop being prejudice? Will Dary unravel her horrific past of Cambodia? Read More Than Meets The Eye. Ok, this book was ok, not bad really. Although it did get boring in some spots but the rest was ok. This book would be great for all readers.

A guy named Brad doesn't like Ben becuase Liz likes Ben and Be n likes Liz. He wants to prove liz wrong by doing his homework and bye volenteering for two new students from across the world. I think this book was really good. I thought it would be kind of boring, but it turned out to be pretty good.

This book was about a Cambodian girl that must more to America because her parents have died. She needs some help because she can't speak English at all. Liz is assigned to help Dary find her way around school. Liz finds herself spending more and more time helping Dary and less and less time hanging out with her friends. Liz doesn't know what to do and how to help Dary, but at the same time hang out and enjoy her life with her friends. I really liked this book because it taught me that everyone has different things to offer. People shouldn't judge people by physical appearance but what he or she has to offer on the inside. This book, I think, is not like any other book I have ever read. It has many different types of people and shows how it might be hard for someone who speaks a different language to come to America and have to speak English.
Wonderful Book about prejudice and teamwork

More Than Meets the Eye is a book based on loyalty, bravery, and teamwork. It is wonderfully written, with an eye-catching plot. This book shows that everyone, no matter what race or background, can work together to change the world. The story is about a girl named Liz. She is in love with a boy named Ben who is Chinese-American. An American named Brad has a crush on her, but he is very prejudiced. He is angry that Liz could have a crush on someone who is not "her own kind." I think that this is stupid for three reasons. The first one is everyone is that everyone is the same no matter what they look like. The second is whatever goes around comes around, and the third is if he wants her to like him, he shouldn't insult her about who she likes. She and Ben are neck to neck at being number one in the class. The parents aren't too happy about that. Liz's parents stress for her to be the best in the class. One day, a refuge from Cambodia, named Dary Sing joins Liz's class. She lives with her aunt, uncle and cousins. Liz is trying to teach her English. This is very kind of Liz. As Liz learns more and more about Dary's background, she is more determined to fight for the right thing. Liz's life is drifting away, and the people who are very close seem far away. She wonders why the good things that she does make her feel angry. Many people in her community are prejudice, and Liz wants to stop it. That is a very smart idea, ingredients my opinion. Who is right? Should she be prejudiced, or fight it? I think that she should fight prejudice. I recommend the book to everyone. This book was a little sad, but a lot of it was like a normal teenager's life, helping people, feelings of being alone, stress... Many parts of this book show large amounts of bravery, and fighting for what is right. This is a wonderful book to read at anytime.
Will It Work?

From the author of "Not Just Pary Girls" comes another great book "More than Meets the Eye." In this novel the main character Elizabeth Gaynor is on the middle of her sophmore year in high school. She knows it would not be easy, but her parents are not making it any easier. They are proud of Elizabeth's number two spot in the class, but like most parents they want her to be number one. The number one student in the class is Ben Lee a Chinese American born in Chicago.Ben does not like the fact that most people think that he has lived in China when he hasn't. When anyone seees an Asian girl they automatically think that Ben likes her. His mission is to prove that this is not true. He is an American whether anyone believes it or not. His pareents on the other hand, are immagrants from China, there one soul cause for coming here was to make sure their boys grew rich, smart, and marry wise Chinese women. This comes as a problem for Ben because he is on love with Elizabeth. Elizabeth also loves him in return. Populace starts to rile as these two try to make it through a biracial relationship. I would like to compare this book to the new movie "Save the Last Dance." In the movie a girl named Sarah moves to the Bronx. There she meets an African American guy who most ladies are dying to get there hands on . As they try to start a biracial relationship they also experience hardships. I like this book because it takes prejudice through the eyes of a girl who is seeking love.
