This second collection of poems have been inspired by life and love. Following from my first book of simple poems that I wrote during the first Covid lockdown, the themes continue on life's observations concerning areas such as love, of sorrow and loss and also, a little of the lighter side of life. I am a counsellor and so I do focus on emotions with the intention that others may read my poems and feel them. The poems came together by writing down, each day, my thoughts from what I may have observed on the news or on social media, sometimes the poems are personal and as a carer for my severely disabled son, I try to open up my heart and share my honesty about how difficult life as a carer can be. However, this is not the entire focus of the book and there are a fair amount of light-hearted creations, inspired by, for instance, my dog and my family. There is an assortment of subjects that come with the intention of delivering a variety of poems rather than concentrating on just one area. I fully intend to concentrate on producing books that are more subject specific, as my experience grows. As an amateur writer, I just write with the intention of expressing my own emotions and hopefully, allowing others to identify with something that I write and maybe they can possibly see that they are not alone in how they feel. As the title suggests, the poems are plain and simple, I intended for them to be easy to read rather than too profound. There are just over one hundred in this collection, just enough to enjoy with a coffee when one takes a little break.
