More JOY Than Tears is a collection of memoirs of a young girl who grew up in and around Canton, Ohio during The Great Depression and World War II. Helen was a "real" Rosie the Riveter during WWII. While much has been written about The Great Depression, this personal account is unique because Helen never knew her father. He was a police chief who died before she was born. Helen was the fourth of four girls. The girls were told that they were fortunate to have a mother who understood them so well.
