Great book (from an African American woman)!

This book opened my eyes to all the compromises I was making because of my race in spite of my spirituality. I, too, strive to be a 24-7 Christian. More Christian than African American. I highly recommend this book to people of all races.

Keep it coming !

I've had the wonderful pleasure of not only reading Mrs.Tate's book, but also meeting her in her church home. It was clear why Mrs. Tate was lead to write an account of her spiritual journey. Surrounded by a loving and supportive family at home as well as church only ensures that she's bound for even more writing success. All you "haters" keep those bad reviews coming! This only fuels Mrs. Tate to plow ahead ! Keep it coming, Kim.

This book is thought provoking and spiritually convicting.

From the moment I read the cover and introduction, I was hooked! Kim put in print so much of what I believe and some of what I have expressed openly before. It was VERY refreshing to hear (read) a fellow believer express, without apology or reservation, the Truth. She was candid about her own feelings, beliefs (past and present), issues, struggles, and even her sins. If we of every race and background would be willing to be at least as transparent as Kim was in this book, what a different body of Christ and, therefore, world there would be. For the record, I am not an African American woman. I am classified as "white". This book did not exclude me at all. I was convicted and challenged all the way through. I have recommended it to several friends and family already. In fact, my recommendations were given during the first few chapters. They were extended to male and female, black and white. I believe there is much in Kim's book to offer anyone willing to take the time to read this "easy read". The title could mislead a person. But don't let it. It could read "More Christian than Hispanic", "More Christian than Asian",or "More Christian than Politician". Take your pick. You fill in the blank for yourself. If we profess to be Christian, there WILL come a point and time when God Himself will require us to fill in the blank. As stated plainly by the author, we are either for Him or against Him. Loyalty knows only one master. I applaud the pastor of Kim's A.M.E. church for his convictions and uncompromising presentation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. In many branches of "The Church" many (too many) members and visitors alike are hearing, seeing, smelling, tasting, feeling, and living a watered-down version of the Gospel, which has lead us to our present conditon as individuals, a body, a nation, and world. May the Holy Spirit continue to fill afresh Kimberly Cash-Tate AND her pastor for the furthering of Kingdom of God for indeed, it is at hand.

Thank you for such a powerful testimony to God's work.

Kimberly Cash Tate has written a remarkable account of her spiritual journey. This book touches on experiences to which many African Americans can relate. Through her writing, she has given inspiration and hope to those of us still struggling with the many life conflicts that block us from attaining our true spiritual identity. Her experience is also a testimony to the Christian belief that we are not in control of our lives and that the Lord has a definite plan for each of us. With patience, desire, and faith, we can all come to know and love God. What a blessing!

An eloquently written, heart-warming testimony!

This book is a must-read!!! Engaging and thought-provoking, this personal testimony encourages the reader to take a closer look at their Christian walk and to develop a more proactive approach to serving GOD.Mrs. Tate's story is eloquently written and the pacing is fabulous. I read it on a road trip and shared the book with several family members who commented on how much they enjoyed it.Her testimony illustrates how important it is to recognize and be thankful for all the blessings GOD bestows upon us.Personally, the story reassured me that the trials and tribulations we often endure in our lives, particularly in our careers, is merely GOD's test to prepare us for the great things that await us in the future.
