Moonshiner in Training

Fourteen-year-old Carl Harris is mature beyond his years. The family farm has been his responsibility since the family moved to Arkansas, and his mother's illness began. For over two years, while his father cares for his mother, Carl is the man of the house.

After his mother and baby sister die, Carl chooses not to go to Oklahoma with his father. Someone burned down the farmhouse and Carl is forced to leave and go in search of a job.

His journey takes him to Big Creek, Arkansas where he is given the advice to head to visit Willie Sitton. Learning Sutton would probably give him a job, he made his way to the Sutton homestead when he was indeed hired.

However, he became more than a hired hand. He became part of Willie's family, was given a place to live and began his training, doing anything Willie Sutton wanted. One of his duties is to learn every aspect of the family business...making moonshine.

Follow Carl's adventure as he becomes part of the Moonshiner and the Preacher legacy, in Moonshiner in Training.
