Mild mannered accountant Frank Clavell was mystified as to why he was chosen to work part time for the mortuary, until he found out about their financial troubles. And then he found out about their gimmick. They actually resurrect people for one last party with their loved ones. The problem is; once resurrected, who really wants to die again? Frank's long forgotten military training may come in handy on this evening and weekend job. This science fiction action adventure suspense thriller is just the start of a new series."I never expected to see you again," Frank said over the whine of the engine."You are the only person in town who knows my secret," Johnson said. "It's oddly comforting.""So you're going to get me out of a jam even though I was sent to kill you? I mean, again?"Johnson shrugged, then changed lanes and got onto the freeway on-ramp. "I figure you are only doing what you were sent to do. You are not the mastermind, you are nothing but a foot soldier. And you are not terribly good. I think we can do business.""What business do you have in mind, Mr. Johnson?""I'm wealthy," Johnson said, "Very wealthy. Government contracts, you know.""So I've been briefed," Frank replied.Johnson pulled off the freeway into a rest area, and let the engine idle so the air conditioning would keep them cool. "Perhaps we can come to an understanding," Johnson stated simply. "I give you a set amount of money for your silence, your ignorance, or even a complete lie. If you tell the pig and the goon that I've been killed, maybe they'll leave me alone."Frank squinted in thought, processing the proposal. To his knowledge, there was only one way that would satisfy his colleagues. "It depends how you were killed.""Automobile accident," Johnson said."That wouldn't work. The procedure would have you regenerate in no time.""Fiery automobile accident. Total incineration.""Now that would work," Frank nodded. "Yeah. That would do it.""So all you have to do is come up with another body, a corpse that we can burn with this car, and mission accomplished," Johnson said."Oh, I couldn't kill anybody," Frank objected."You were planning on killing me!" Johnson replied.
