Last year, I returned to motorcycling and started thinking about riding up to Alaska. In the course of researching that ride, I purchased this book (thinking I'd want to find neat places between here and there) and ultimately discovered what an astounding destination Western Canada is in its own right. I've since made one weekend trip up to Lillooet and am planning a longer trip up in 2009. I now have about a dozen books about Western Canada but this is easily the best reference...I take it everywhere. Nice work!
Western Canada tour book review

If you are touring western Canada, this is a very good book. We made a loop up from the States to Calgary, AB into Banf & Jasper NPs then to Dawson Creek in BC to go up the ALCAN or Alaskan Highway to Alaska via the Klondike loop through Dawson City in the Yukon. On our way down we backtracked a bit then went down the Cassiar Highway to Stewart, BC, Smithers then Prince George before heading south back toward the States. This book covered most of our Canada road trip since it is more than just British Columbia (BC). While GPS is okay, it has not progressed to the details that the Moon series does for Western Canada. It was well worth the money with the extra interesting details for my wife to read to me when arriving in a town along the road. We learned a lot more with this book than without it. We did several sidetrips that we enjoyed very much that we would not have known without this book.

I purchased this book to prepare for our upcoming trip to Inuvik, NWT, Canada. I have found the book to be well written and to have pertinent information in a very readable format. I am looking forward to our trip to see all the things mentioned. The book will be very useful as we will drive through Alberta, NWT, Yukon & British Colombia during our 3 1/2 week trip.
