The end is nigh for 68-year-old mystical-minded Cien O'Mears. Driven by the looming sense of his own demise, Cien is on a mission to do good deeds for others. Deciphering elements from the other side, he comes into contact with an antique opium lamp inhabited by the spirit of an 18th century addict. His mind and spirit is drawn into the moonlit alleys, shrines, and opium dens of yesteryear Macau.His son, Mick O'Mears, runs a bar with a motley crew of patrons who begin to question Cien's altruistic motivations and mystical-leanings. Compounded by Cien's guardian role with Atticus, the autistic wanderer, an incident takes place that puts Cien's moral character deeply into question. The men in the bar have a plan, and Cien is to blame. Will his own spiritual mindedness pull him through the conflict? His reaction isn't what you'd think, as it culminates on top of Macau's historical S?o Paulo Ruins. Will the Ruins be all of their ruins? Or are they just one small piece of a larger mystical puzzle?
