FAYE KELLERMAN DOES IT AGAIN AND BETTER THAN EVER!

A marvelous mystery, a divergence from Faye Kellerman's normal novels which have heavily revolved around the Jewish faith. This book holds the reader's attention from beginning to end. The research done on Las Vegas is the best. Being very familiar with the city, as the reader, I was moving and walking right along with the characters. And speaking of characters, she has some unique ones in this book.If you are seeking a extraordinary mystery/thriller this is the book. If you are looking for the "same ole, same, old" from Kellerman, this might be your cup of tea, but she has opened the door to a vast new audience with this unique and fast paced book!Frightening, imaginative, enthralling - what more can I say, this is a real page turner - best be ready to stay up all night with this jewel!I am a Patricia Cornwell, Jonathan Kellerman fan, but this new book of Faye Kellerman's really hits the spot...excellent, hope to see more of this type of writing from her.

Faye Kellerman caught the flavor of Las Vegas

Faye Kellerman has come up with a wonderful new cast of characters and a great setting. The plot was tightly woven around the unusual nature of Las Vegas. Having lived there, I could relate to Kellerman's take on the city. She was right on. Her use of Native American and Southwestern cultural themes melded beautifully with the plot twists and turns. Her characters were quirky, but believable. I think this is the best dialog Kellerman has written to date. I read the whole book in one night, couldn't put it down. If you like Tony Hillerman, you will enjoy Faye Kellerman's interpretation of similar phenomena. To Faye Kellerman: you did an excellent job, write more like this.

A disappointing departure from her earlier books

I've read almost all of ms Kellerman's books and uptil this one, I enjoyed all of them. Moon Music started off quite well, with all the ingredients necessary for an interesting story: murder, mutilation, disgruntled detectives and a mysterious city. But like most of the other reviewers, I thought that the plot got more and more ridiculous as the story wore on. The ending, on the other hand, was one of the dumbest I have ever come across! It truly annoyed me that I had spent 3 weeks reading this. Let's get back to the god old Decker/Lazarus mysteries, shall we?

I loved this book.

This book is indeed a change of pace from the Decker-Lazarus novels of Faye Kellerman and I found it very refreshing. Although the characters were for the most part dysfunctional (admittedly so), I found myself sympathizing with them. The plot is not so far out, it reminded me a little of Stephen King's "Fire Starter." Let your imagination soar and you will find this a great read.
