Strong collection of moon poetry, essays, and sayings
Published by Thriftbooks.com User , 25 years ago
This is a wonderful little book for anyone interested in the moon in myth and art. Paula Rees collected proverbs, poems, and essay excerpts to celebrate the moon. Writers included: Robert Frost, Galileo, Walter De La Mare, Whitman, Poe, and Shelley. She also included a lunar calendar and a list of moon-gods from myth. The book is very small and short (83 pages) and is not intended as a thorough analysis of the moon's role in religion and literature. Anyone looking for detail should seek elsewhere. Rather, it's a tiny little book of ruminations, a compilation of what poets and visionairies and regular people have said about the moon over the years.
