Completely revised and updated guide to Qu bec's two distinctly different cities
Montr al and Qu bec City are vibrant cultural centres, pre-eminent destinations for Canadians, Americans and Europeans alike. This new Colourguide offers updated coverage and new images of museums, galleries, heritage sites, parks and gardens.
Written entirely by local residents, this book gives readers the benefit of inside knowledge on accommodations, events, places to eat, places to shop, and places to relax. Montreal Mirror Arts Editor Matthew Woodley explores the art galleries, from the grand to the underground. Actor and film maker Paul Spence covers nightlife both on and off the beaten track, including the gay scene, as well as late-night snack spots. Sarah Musgrave, casual dining critic for the Montreal Gazette, gets to the heart of Montr al's ever-evolving Main, examining the culture, cuisine, entertainment, and shopping.
This edition features expanded coverage of Qu bec City. The dining section focuses on award-winning chefs who use the region's finest produce to create a distinct cuisine. The convergence of historical buildings and the modern city in Upper and Lower Towns is highlighted by local experts.
This edition is fully updated with a listings section that provides website information for travellers who like to plan on the web. Maps and colour photography illustrate an entertaining and informative text.
Very informative, I am from this area and loved the book.
Good overview

I thought this book was quite appropriate for my travel to Montreal and Quebec City. It describes in sections of what to see and do at Montreal and Quebec City. It also gives the reader information on some of the excursions one can undertake while in these areas. However, this book is best used in conjunction with a detailed map as it doesn't not tell the read how to get to the places it describes (e.x. while Montmorency and Orleans are indeed 5 minutes East of Quebec City, it doesn't tell you how to get there). Overall, if you are only staying in each city for 1-2 days though, this is a great book.
