Although I lived less than twelve years on the farm, out of all the places I have lived it still holds the most treasured place in my heart. My memories and feelings for the farm have been nurtured and kept vivid through the years by visits back there to share the farm with my wonderful wife Sue and our five children, Christel, Shaun, Aimee, Myles, and Carin. We would often meet Mom and Dad and sometimes my sister Dory and her husband Al, and their children as well as my "Big brother" Myles along with his wife Gayle and their family. Just thinking about the farm makes me feel homesick for the old buildings and farm animals, for the windy prairie and its wildlife, the many memories of my childhood adventures, and most of all for my wonderful family. But I can never share it again with my mom and dad who have both gone on to be with the Lord. Although we could hardly have been any poorer, I never knew it back then. That realization came later as I began to grow up and life became more complicated. While I was still on the farm all I knew was the love and security of my home and family and all those daily childhood adventures. Now I'd like to try to take you, my wonderful grandchildren, back with me to those wonderful days of yesteryear through the pages of this book. But not all of the stories I am sharing with you are from when I was just a little boy. Some of my childhood stories led me to recall later memories and stories as well. But I think you will enjoy hearing those as well!
