Aimed at young children from the age of four to six Monkey and Bean are two characters that sail to Red Island in search of adventure. Whilst there climbing a tree they meet an injured seagull who they decide to help; had they decided not to do this, then the seagull would not see its family again. With urgency Monkey and Bean set off walking and climbing across the island to enlist the assistance of other seagulls. The book is boosted by 12 bright, colourful and original illustrations. Journey to Red Island is the first in the series of books and the next, 'Dinosaur Footprints' will be released in Autumn 2021. Bean is the more intelligent of the two characters. Smaller and less physically able, Bean relies on Monkey to help with more physically demanding elements of their adventure. In contrast, Monkey's personality is defined by his large nose, a love of Bananas and climbing. Both characters are not at any point referred to as either he or she and from an inclusive point of view will appeal to girls and boys. A fun educational question is included at the end of each book to enhance the learning experience.This being a slim line book it is highly suitable and economically priced for adding to party packs.
