The Best Big Picture Business Book you will find this year

Peter Marber combines data, insight and experience to present a convincing view of how current global capitalism is primarily a prosperity-oriented, future-enhancing system that has made and will continue to make a great positive difference for its ever-increasing number of participants. The book is amazing. Especially as a defense against protectionists, pessimists and overall progress-slowers.

"The Globe According to Marber" - an insightful trip

Peter Marber's "Money Changes Everything" is a great follow up to his first foray into defining the intricate web of international and crossborder commerce and their profound impact on various cultures. I think this book should be required reading for all politicians in Washington and the political pundits who spew anti-trade rhetoric. I enjoyed the more contemporary analogies portrayed in this book and think Marber captures an oft-discussed but infrequently understood dynamic quite well and makes it very readable.

Understand a new perspective on our world

Everyone who thinks they have an opinion on either side of the "globalization" fence should read this well organized, and researched book. It is incredibly comprehensive, yet each topic is subdivided into very digestible pieces. And each of these in turn are well supported with detailed research and footnotes. It sets a high bar for those on the bandwagon of anti-globalization with a positive and fresh perspective on the reality of global development.

The Effects of Economic Development

Peter Marber's book addresses the changes wealth brings to developing societies. Whatever the reader's thoughts about growth and trade, life for everyone is getting better and is much better than the lives of our ancestors.Having made this point Marber then explores various segments of life to illustrate the effects of the improving lifestyle. He explains how the role of women in society changes. The attitudes towards faith and religion change as people become more educated. Consumer spending goes through various stages. Environmental issues gain importance and educations speeds up the whole process.Anyone interested in economic growth and its effects will find this an easily read description of the results.

Tonic for the Pessimists! A Great Read!

Finally a realistic (and optimistic!) take on the world today. This book explains in simple terms why globalization is good, how wealth is being created, and how most lives are changing for the better. Anyone who listens to national Public Radio, or reads books like Friedman's Lexus and the Olive Tree will appreciate what Marber has to say. With detailed graphs, stats and anecdotes, this is a user-friendly primer on some of the most complex issues of our time. A great feel-good read for the summer...
