Money Ain't Loyal

A hard-boiled thriller that demands to be read in one sitting.
Natasha Orlova was the only surviving relative and daughter of a Moscow streetwalker. Though she grew up in poverty, she was full of ambition. At eighteen, she left Russia and her mother, whom she regarded as a failure, for the golden land of opportunity, America. Like many other young girls migrating to the United States, she dived into the adult industry searching for a living. Her breakthrough in the adult industry came two years later; when an American businessman took enough interest in her to marry her. He was a man involved in a deadly game of crime, but it was all good; for she loved him, and he had money, and money was one thing that was essential to her life. But soon; the tides were to change. Tides, which would eventually force her confession, "Money ain't Loyal."

Highlights from reviews

She couldn't help but take out the paper, unfold it, and read through its content yet again.
The first sentence struck a knife into her heart. As she read further, each word pushed the knife deeper, each sentence twisted the blade in her heart.
"Your father might still be alive. Ever since your conception, I promised myself I wouldn't let him know of you. He was bad. I wanted the best for you. But you struck a knife in my heart, child, as you grew up to be as bad as him. I was stubborn to believe this. You're my child. Then, when you moved to America, I knew it was fate. It was by every means drawing you closer to him. Attached to this letter is a photograph of him. His name, I've sworn not to remember. I wouldn't want to stand in the way of fate. Goodbye, daughter." An excerpt from the book. - Ruth Peter

Daniel's synopsis intrigued me. Captivated by the idea of what his book could contain, I eagerly obtained a copy.
This is a dark adventure. The plot revolves around a Russian convict looking to get revenge on a former colleague in the drug trade that he felt certain had betrayed him and was the reason he was sent to jail. At the same time, the story intertwines the efforts of a Russian native named Natasha who is searching for her father following her mother's recent death. The rub of it all is that Natasha has only an old picture but no name or other significant details to help her identify the biological father she never knew. I can't say much more about the plot and the story without painting too much of a picture that allows anyone to identify the various twists and turns the book's story holds.
The concept and storyline were indeed intriguing - Gary Richardson

The story reflects the meaning of the title, "Money Ain't Loyal."
I enjoyed the storyline; it would make a thrilling action movie. The story leaves you wondering what's gonna happen next.
The imagery is there.
The only get snippets of information at the beginning which leaves you wondering, will she ever meet her father? How could she without a name or any leads? Then, we learn about the mysterious character, who seems to be trying to frame someone. I was wondering what is this all about? Could this mysterious man be who I think it is?
I like how most of the characters here had some kind of brief backstory, they usually came from poverty and struggle. Daniel used great vocabulary and diction to create vivid imagery for the reader. - Yasira Damas
