This is a children's book to help young children deal with the loss of a parent. As an Oncologist, I wanted to make a tool to help with the grief a child experiences when coping with the death of a parent to cancer. This book can help both young and older children embrace the concept that even in death our loved ones are still here in spirit, watching over us and sending us signs and messages to help guide us through life. Although this book addresses the loss of a mother, the concepts described can help with the loss of any close friend or relative to illness or tragedy. I hope this book can be a bright light that guides one through the darkness of such a difficult and sad journey. Paul Richmond's beautiful illustrations will help both children and adults open their eyes to all the healing powers in the beauty and love that surround us. Both of us hope through our pictures and words that we leave the message even if our loved ones aren't physically here, their love and presence in our hearts and souls is eternal.
