Good Company.

This selection was in good condition and it arrived very quickly. I'm very happy with this order.

Wonderful transaction!

I was more than pleased with this purchase. I had a previous experience with a different seller and the same book where the book was not in the proper condition and I received it late. I also had trouble contacting that seller. However, this book was in a padded envelope and sent in excellent condition. I was VERY pleased with this purchase and would definitely buy from this seller again. Thank you! Moments: The Pulitzer Prize-Winning Photographs: A Visual Chronicle of Our Time, Revised and Updated

Intense, Insightful, and True

Thankfully, in its range of events, nations, and issues covered, the pictures inside go way beyond the front page. Many pictures convey a reality that people like to forget. How about a white man 'stabbing' a person of color with a flag pole -the US flag proudly flying? How about an undernourished Sudanese toddler collapsed on the desert sand with a vulture waiting for its chance in the background? The pictures depict many unanswered questions in a very intense and beautiful way. A very powerful book.

Heart-rendering depictions by devoted photojournalists

This book contains the best Pulitzer awarded pictures from its inception since 1942. Most of the photos are in B & W and you begin to realise how much more powerful and appropriate it is to be shot in this medium, as it strips away the epidermi of the scene and reveals the emotional flesh of the moment. Every photo is accompanied with a commentary about how it was made and the situation that exposed the determination, patience and grit of the photographer. And for each year that is chronicled, four thumbnail pics of other events in that year is depicted, to give a sense of the timeline of the situation. This book makes you want to be a photojournalist.

Made me cry

My husband gave me this book for Christmas and I couldnt wait to start reading (?) it. It is a collection of the pulitzer prize winning photographs of the last 50+ years. The book begins with mostly World War images but ends on a light note with Clinton and his saxophone. The pages lead you through history through pictures, not so much words and by the end I was crying so hard I couldn't see the print. It really made me think about some of the inhumanities that people have lived (and not lived) to tell about. I loved this book until the last few pages when 1999 ended with photographs of Bill & Monica. It turned sour at that point because every other picture held a noble meaning. This book is worth the money for the hours that you will spend flipping through the pages.
