Sandra Bailey Browne's poetry explores the challenges of being raised by a divorced mom who worked in the woolen mills and after her shift cleaned the mill owners' houses in a predominately Catholic town in Northeast Connecticut. Sandra was raised alongside her one brother, Butch, who was in and out of institutions and prisons from the time he was six. Sandra and her mother visited him for many years of Sundays.
