The present volume is the final of this series where we attempted to bring to the medical scientific community an integrated view of the funamentals of disease processes and clinical biochemical diagnoses. Basic medical knowledge is advancing at an accelerated pace due to significant progress in biotechnology and molecular biology. Many major breakthroughs are being accomplished at a steadfast rhythm in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases that were indurable until today. We foresee that in the near future, curative molecular control of many diseases will be easily achieved. Thus, an attempt to continue this series in view of such tremendous challenge would require the renewal of knowledge and efforts that are best recruited from the younger ranks of our scientific elite.
