I found this extremely well-researched novel to be a real page-turner. History and fiction are interwoven in a subtle drama that leaves the reader entirely engaged in the action -- this would make a great movie or mini-series, as the characters are real, breathing examples of humanity (or the lack thereof!). I recommend this novel.
