Modification of chemical structures of certain natural antioxidants

Most antioxidants isolated from higher plants are polyphenols, Phenolic compounds possess an effective inhibitory effect on cancer invasion and metastasis is also increasingly being reported in the scientific literature. Several polyphenols were tested on MCF7 cells, Only gallic acid and quercetin showed prominent inhibitory effects on MCF7. The cytotoxic properties of methoxy phenolic acid and it is derivatives, structurally related to the natural models (gallic acid, Combretastatin A4) have been tested on MCF-7 cells.
