This book is about the new weight loss medications, the incretins, and their role in weight loss. Weight loss starts with not getting fat to begin with. About 40% of the adults in the countries eating the modern Western diet are obese, as is about 30% of the kids. You are fat because of your diet. If you are obese, incretins will work on almost all of you. They are expensive, and you may not be able to stop taking them without getting fat again. No matter what diet you go on to lose weight, after you have lost the weight you must go on a different diet to keep from gaining the weight back. If you go back to your previous diet, you will get fat again. For eat of the weight loss diets, there is a different diet you go onto after losing weight. Incretins make you lose fat, prevent progression of prediabetes, helps to treat type 2 diabetes, lowers you LDL, raises you HDL, lowers you CRP, lowers you calcium score, lowers you hypertension, and may help prevent Alzheimer's disease and dementia. Some people will need to remain on them, others will change their diet an may not need them any longer. I will explain to you how incretins work.
