Laughed so hard it was PAINFUL!

Venita Louise has created a hysterical funny comedy in Mixed Nuts. I don't know how she does it. Each character is so entriging, so unique, like Frank Beal's little daughter who wears a hard hat or his savvy son. His son so reminded me of my own son at that age. And that's the other thing. With as quirky and unusual as the characters are, solving their neighbor problem using voodoo, hitting snails over the fence for revenge, wearing a kilt and no teeth, somehow, I could find myself in that plot very easily. Maybe this means that we all have weird kids and quirky relatives and neighbors we are jealous of? I don't know, I just know that I haven't had this satisfying a laugh in a LONG time. Thanks Ms. Louise, you are a pearl. Please write more! I can't wait for the next book!

Mixed Nuts Take Me Away

I am the type of person that when I want to get away and really escape everyday life I let Calgon take me away, but I found a far superior way. You see with a bath I am still aware of my surroundings and what is going on, and when I read Venita Louise's Mixed Nuts it took me completely away. I was so entralled by Venita's writing style and her descriptive details, it made me feel like I was right there going through everthing with the family. I did not put down the book until I had completed it in it's entirety. I was shocked that day had turned into night, and I had even turned on the lights oblivious to what I was doing. I throughly enjoyed the story from beginning to end, and felt really satisfied with the completion of the book. I highly recommend this book to all, and look forward to further work from Venita. I do need to escape once in awhile, and Mixed Nuts was the answer for me. Thank you Venita for your wonderful work!

Mixed Nuts Satisfies

Venita Louise is sure to satisfy your appetite for humor with Mixed Nuts. I found myself laughing out loud several times, enjoying the comical antics of Frank (protagonist) and brother Gene with their amateur attempts at practicing voodoo. The other characters are a hoot too, like Frank's young daughter Susan, an aspiring safety expert who dutifully keeps her father informed of any and all infractions of the local code. I would recommend this novel, fun and full of spirit to anyone who appreciates a good laugh. What an entertaining story! I'm looking forward to the next release by Venita Louise.

Mixed nuts is a delightful read that is just perfect for an evening read and a sooting closing to a hectic day. The charcters are a lively, humorous lot sure to bring a chuckle to every reader's heart. The Beals are a family that allow us to relax in our own imperfections and enjoy the simple pleasures of being human. I highly recommend "Mixed Nuts," to anyone who loves reading and encourage everyone to add it to their list of favorites.

I Loved "Mixed Nuts"

This book took me back to my childhood in Hollywood, California. It was real and funny and I could relate to so many of the things the author wrote about. The characters were believable even if they were kooky. Let's have more of this light, laughable reading that puts us in a great mood.
