Sam and Sid live next door to each other but they are very different...Sam is helpful and kind and Sid is selfish and mean, despite their differences they both long for the same Christmas gift... a super, shiny, awesome red bike. Meanwhile there is trouble in the North Pole, Papa Elf, the experienced list checker, is feeling ill and needs a break, he leaves the checking to the inexperienced Elf Mistletoe who makes a dreadful mistake, leaving the two boys with a Christmas that they were not expecting... naughty Sid receives the beautiful red bike whilst Sam, who was good all year long, is left with just a lump of coal. Santa on learning of the mistake thinks of a way to fix it and to improve the lives of both boys forever, by giving them the best gift anyone can receive...a best friend.
