Two roe deer had come from the garden, past Shed no 1, and were walking towards the cats.

The deer had not seen Eric, on the porch by the Bird House, behind the board barriers.

The explosion of sounds with the frightened cats scared the deer, who sprang over the cats, galloped along the wooden bridge, past Eric, jumped the gate at the end and disappeared down the slope into the Orchard, past the neighbor's bird shed.
