Children have been abused for ages. Unfortunately for some, they were sent to an insane asylum. This book tells how and why this happened. This story looks at the insanity of a system regarding children who were sent to Missouri's State Hospital Number 2, for the insane, in the early 1960s. Many were sent because they came from broken homes. They may have been gay, or in some cases just confused and some for criminal activity. This story covers the process of admissions, where they place these children with adult criminals, sent therefor evaluation by the courts. This is the hospital's practice, and the required protocol, prior to being transferred to the 'Youth Center.' The story also uncovers the misuse of drugs for controlling purposes and the misdiagnosis of these children. Most drugs given to them are now as of 1970, listed in 'The Controlled Substances Act (CSA)' as addictive drugs. What they did to these children is a sad story. One that is told by an actual inmate/patient who spent nearly two years of his youth in this state sponsored nightmare. Truly, it is an asylum for the insane, but in my opinion; the administrators who ran it are the ones insane.
