Allen Baswell has been writing poetry for more than seven years, posting his works on various social media sites, and had works published in the September-October 2014 and the September-October 2021 editions of Confederate Veteran magazine. The poems were "Thirteen Headstones on a Hill" and "Would We Do It Again?" "All through high school and college, and time after college, I've written poetry off and on, but my interest gathered strength in 2014 when I had a poem published in Confederate Veteran magazine," Baswell said, adding that he enjoys writing poetry more than ever.
