This fictional work x-rays the conflict encountered by a particular group of people in the eastern part of Nigeria as a result of the coming of the white missionaries. The community known for peace for donkey years becomes war zone when the missionaries arrived and divided them. The two characters Chika and Oluchi represent the two cultures. Both of them were born the same night and the same hour by different mothers. They were presumed to be husband and wife in the near future by the villagers. Unknown to the community, Chika and Oluchi are on a mission. The traditional head of the the community "Ogu" Eze Onyeagwanam brought a lot of hardship to his people because he believes he knows it all. he fails to consult the chief priest and diviners especially on important matters. unlike his late father who's reign was peaceful and successful. Before Eze Onyeagwanam took over the leadership of Ogu after the demise of his father; his late father without shedding blood or raising arms drove the missionaries out of the community to Enu-Ugwu. The work also brings to light the bad blood between Ogu and its neighbor Neokpa which lingers for year. Finally, this fictional work is an attempt to x-ray the cultural conflict associated with the coming of the white people to Africa.
