Mission means connectingThis edition is an invaluable collection of our convictions, our missionary convictions - of past and present.. What emerges from here is a missionary paradigm that can be summed up in three words:
Going - Connecting - Growing.
Missionaries move to cutting edges without cutting ties with their communities of origin. In fact, they are sent by their Churches of origin as representatives. This is not only to see foreigners but to feel and live as life is felt and lived by our family members at the peripheries. This is connecting with some members of the human family as representatives of some other members of the same family. What happens next? Eyes open on all sides. People start seeing with their hearts, as Pope Francis says in Fratelli Tutti.[1] Growth becomes inevitable. Growth involves changes. As prejudices and perspectives change, it will not be too long before we see changes all over, from the liturgy of the Church to the legislation in the world. This is evolution, in more familiar words, the growth of the Kingdom. Connecting enriches more than giving, sharing life transforms more than leading, growing together becomes collective and continual conversion. Real growth of humanity comes from real connections. Go without leaving! Connect without condescending!! Grow, with the whole of humanity, grow!!! [1] "Its point of departure must be God's way of seeing things. "God does not see with his eyes, God sees with his heart." Pope Francis, Encyclical letter Fratelli Tutti (3 Oct 2020). n. 281.Table of ContentsEditorial - S. I.
