These collected texts offer an array of perspectives, marking a particular moment in time while also providing a permanent testament to the city of Providence. They serve as the beginning of a conversation about the writer's experience of the city. The construction of this anthology involved a great deal of outreach to organizations and individuals in the community. As a result, we included writers within and outside of Frequency's circles. Part I gives us a "Panorama" of the city, views from above or afar, temporally and spatially. In Part II, we experience multiple "Encounters" within Providence-of self, of others, or of the city as a character. Finally, Part III functions as a point of "Departure," an opportunity to look backwards and move forwards.
