;American Mystery is a highly captivating and enjoyable book to read. It brings together spiritual ideas in highly accessible forms for teenagers through a really interesting story about Edie. It helps to recognise that as humans we can experience painful emotions and how we can tap into our inner resources in order to manage and cope with difficulties we may encounter. The story is captivating with many unexpected twists and turns which are threaded nicely together with so many different characters and locations.
