Miss Piggy's Guide To Life review

This book is hilarious! I can't believe that it's out of print and only available for sale on the secondary market; but maybe that will change with time. The book uses the Muppet character of Miss Piggy as a way to dispense outrageous and amusing "advice" (geared mostly to women) about life and how to handle life's challenges; it's a great spoof of self-help books. Naturally, with every subject that Miss Piggy tackles, she reveals her own flaws and that's a good part of what kept me laughing. The book is very well written and it proceeds at a rapid-fire pace to keep the laughs coming at you one after another; the photos of Miss Piggy in numerous costumes and poses enhance the book even more. Piggy handles various subjects including Beauty, Body Language, Diet, Entertaining, Finance, Travel and much more. It's tough to single out any one chapter as being funnier than the others; they are all extremely amusing and you'll be laughing all the way. However, I did pick a few topics that are my favorites. Beauty--Piggy points out that mirrors always make women "larger in the wrong places." She prescribes all kinds of wacky advice for people who must deal with a "problem" complexion. For example, if you have unsightly facial hair, you should "read ghost story, then clip." Body Language--this section has numerous photos of Piggy as she demonstrates to her readers appropriate body language for certain social situations. A riot! Diet--My favorite part of this is the picture that compare weights on a scale. Since an artichoke weighs more than a pastry, Miss Piggy advises her readers to stick to the pastry. Entertaining--Piggy's crazy ideas about ice breakers at parties. She tells her readers to first take stock of their hosts' medicine cabinet--what a springboard for discussion this would be in real life! Her "thank you" letters to hosts are very funny indeed. Finance--Piggy displays her financial "know-how" using er, shall I say, "creative" charts and graphs to illustrate how people should handle their finances. Travel--"When in doubt, pack it...what if you are in Florida without your furs, and there is a very quick little ice age?" The very end of the book is a spoof on letters to an advice columnist, in this Miss Piggy. This is uproarious. Overall, Miss Piggy's Guide To Life is a remarkably funny book that deserves so much more attention; I don't understand why it's not currently in print as the humor is timeless. A few of the pictures display Piggy wearing clothing that was in fashion in the early 1980s; a handful of newer photos could get this back into print. Grab this book while you still can--it's side-splittingly funny!

Miss Piggy's Guide to Life

It is wonderful, so funny I was in tears. I would suggest that anyone in need of a good laugh read this book, better yet buy it so you can read it again and again.

This is a wonderful funny book!

Too bad it is out of print. It tells you (through the eyes of Miss Piggy) how to act in most situations. It gives (hilarious) advice about diets, exercise, romance, shopping, eating, what career to choose, and how to travel. All of the pictures of Miss Piggy are really funny too. I would recomend this to anyone.
