"Miss Lion" is a collection of poems, written by Ann Marie E. Campbell - the title reflecting her first nick name that was given to her by the elders in the rural community of Georgia Road in Cascade, Hanover, Jamaica. While Miss Lion represented her strong and bold personality as a child, it was really her resilience and fearlessness during her mid-thirties that gave her the courage to write what some would consider dark poetry. From the quiet comfortable hills above St. Andrew, Jamaica where she once lived and wrote in the early mornings, Ann Marie revealed several truths from identified themes in her poems. After two decades, this literary art remains relevant - finally being revealed. She was weak and alone while having later resided in a particular developed country, after years of poor health and suffering; and now, it is time for the stories in Miss Lion to be told, expressed in both English and the Jamaican Patois.
