Spark of Light can't stop looking at his reflection in the surface of the lake. This horse has never seen anything more beautiful than himself But a wise old mentor will teach him that true beauty is not found in one's reflection but in one's actions.
Spark has no friends. All he cares about is himself and what the other animals think of him. When Spark begins to believe the others are no longer appreciating him, he asks Mrs. Owl for help. Mrs. Owl tries to tell him that what he looks like doesn't matter, but Spark refuses to listen. Instead, he seeks out a magician who can give him what he wants, and Mrs. Owl reluctantly takes him to the elve's village where this magical man lives.
Spark has decided he no longer wants to be a white horse-he wants to be green Surely this will shock and amaze all the animals back in his forest home-and increase their admiration for him. But when the magician grants him what he asks for, Spark soon realizes there is a price to be paid-and the adventure that ensues will help him recognize his true colors.
