Excellent reading

This book is a wonderful story, well written, poignant and sure to engage readers. Ms. Monroe has captured the story of this school's success in an easy-to-read, engaging way. I read the book in one sitting, since I couldn't put it down!

Realistic, contemporary fiction in the DOP

Marvin, the first person narrator, thinks, acts, and speaks like most DOP kids: he is down on himself and faces many academic and personal problems. He meets a great new teacher who believes in kids and knows how to translate this belief into dynamic, relevant classroom lessons. Teenagers and their teachers will find many reasons to laugh and cry in Miracle.
